The readings for Holy Mass today give us one image that unites them all: the table. Isaiah calls it “a feast of rich food and choice wines.” The psalm sings, “You spread the table before me.” And in the Gospel, Jesus Himself provides bread for the multitude on the mountain. Everywhere we look today, God is feeding his people.
